THE ROUTE OF THE SILK:

Next September we are planning to start a new journey that will take us through the forgotten route of the silk, extremely famous and used in the past because it was the most important point of cultural and commercial exchange between Europe and Asia.

Route:

Our starting point will be Venice, where the famous Marco Polo was from who also was one of the first travellers to travel around the territories that we want to cross in our journey.
Wie will start in Venice and take around four months to cross Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serb, Bulgaria and Turkey. In the city of Ankara we will try to manage to get the visas needed to enter Iran, Turmenistan and Uzbekistan, after three months more we hope to enter in China through the borders that the country has with either Tajikistan or Kyrgyzstan.

Once in China we would like to spend two months exploring the ancient beauty of the country, reaching Beijing to then head towards Mongolia and spend another two months travelling the most rural areas before taking to Baykal Lake and the Russian city or Irkutsk.
From there we will jump onto the transiberian train and reach Moscow as our final destination.

This route depends not only on us but also on the difficulties than we can find, so for that we contemplate alternative routes that will skip Countries that might enter in war in the next months.
We have planned to go through Georgia and Azerbaijan to cross the Caspian sea entering Kazakhstan and from there follow toward the Chinese borders.

Target:

Our aim in this journey is to explore and experience the way of living of the nomad people in the desserts and also the remote areas of the Asian steppes. We will try to inform and reflect the difficulties that the people living in those areas have to obtain the resources that for us are basic and not appreciated because our privileged situation.
We will also try to make people understand why there is so much immigration from those countries to ours in order to reach a better way of living, frequently seen as a negative and problematic matter in our society.
